Food Truck in The Park

Hi,

It's been a while since we last updated. Well to be exact it's been a while too since Nomi and Odri met up, so we decided to went out to Food Truck in the Park event at FX Mall, Senayan. The event was held from 25th May to 1st June 2014, and we went during the weekend.

It was hot sunny Saturday and there were couple of food truck that sell mouth watering foods, but we ended up on the most corner and the most crowded truck, Loco Mama. But hey, the fuller it is, the tastier the food, right?! (it should be)

So, after wondering around looking at those mouth watering menus, Nomi decided to have a chicken burrito. It tastes so good, so delicious, it has cilantro lime rice, chicken, black beans, salsa sauce and guacamole. The rice is so fragrant, the sauce is thick but refreshing thanks to the great salsa sauce and the chicken is so chunky and loaded. Oh.. my mouth gets watery just typing this post.

While Odri, decided to have some huge burrito wrap for herself, added with her most favorite meats "Lengua" which means cow tongue in Mexican. The burrito was juicy and the tongue meat is tender and moist with herbs and the sauces are pretty spicy too, since Odri likes her food spicy and hot! Everything is made to order, so we guarantee that the food is fresh, especially the veggies and all!

Lastly, to close our lunch time , Odri who still have some room in her stomach decided to buy a small apple pie as desserts, from another truck, Retro Gourmet which has some interesting designs of the truck (with all pinky and girly decoration). The apple pie was so delicious with big chunks of apple and also nice crust to the pie ( not too crunchy and not too soft, just perfect! ) !

So that was our last culinary adventures, and we'll keep you posted with our new discovery and more of our tastier findings !

*psst , we heard this event will be held again during the Ramadhan (fasting month) in Jakarta! Stand by for more news and don't miss it peeps!

Buhbye for now,

Manjusha Nusantara 3rd Anniversary

Hi there,

On Saturday, we attend “Manjusha Nusantara 3rd Anniversary” which was held in Kunstring Paleis, 2nd Floor hall. This event showcase the journey of Manjusha Nusantara, one of Indonesian jewelry brand that specialized in traditional Indonesian replica jewelry.  Manjusha’s was created by 4 beautiful lady , named Mrs Ria Wulandari, Mrs Terry Wijaya Supit, Mrs Ina Symonds and Mrs Yasmin Wirjawan.

The invitation could be tear into a postcard with a cover of the traditional picture as shown above.

The event started with a special traditional masquerade dance and continued with a fashion show by Yayasan Putri Indonesia who wears some traditional collection by Lucky Wijayanti while showcasing “Karlingga”, the latest creation by Manjusha Nusantara in collaboration with Chiva Production , to support a traditonal play that was performed on March 2014 in Gedung Kesenian Jakarta.

Since we attend the second session of the event on 2 pm, where the first event was held on 10:30 am and showcase 2 hour traditional dances as entertainment; this second session are more entertaining and media –friendly.

While serving some canape like Carrot cake and Sweet Banana with Coconut, all the guests were also welcomed to look around the hall where there are display of pictures from the scenes of the “Shima- Kembalinya Ratu Adil” play.

Then not to mention, there’s also some Manjusha Nusantara creation for sale…

And for this event, the invitation stated clearly for our dresscode to have some “Touch of Java”. So this is what we wore yesterday …

Nomi

Odri

Then lastly, all the guests who came received a goodie bag from Mustika Ratu, one of Indonesia’s leading cosmetic brand, which consists of cologne and body butter !

We really love traditional creation, so we hope there'll be more event like this that certainly embrace the local Indonesian heritage! Don't you agree?

Nomi & Odri's Eye Make Up Essentials

Hi, all, today we'd love to share with you our daily essentials for EYE MAKE UP to give you guys some inspiration to look your best and make those eyes sparkles! From a DAY look to more flashy NIGHT look, you can achieve them all with all the tools that we share!
You'll read how each one of us blab about our precious finds, and most important items!

While Odri is a make up artist by demand (*go check her personal blog!), I am the crappy one when it comes to a proper beautiful make up. I do love watching all the make up tutorials and reading all the make up review. There are so many actresses’ makeup to try, I feel like bursting out, don't get me wrong I love everything about makeup, the idea of putting something onto my face makes me excited, I love buying them especially when they are in cute shapes, fancy packaging and attractive colors, but whenever I’m in front of the mirror there are only two types of makeup I can do, the SIMPLEST one and the HARDEST one.

To be specific we are putting out our preference for eye makeup essentials and here are what   Nomi’s HARDEST-eye-makeup-troops.
  1.  Naked Palette from Urban Decay Eyeshadow. I think there is no any girl in the world that doesn't have this palette, so I must get one for myself. HAHA! It does come with pretty colors  though with my poor makeup ability I most often only use Virgin and Sin for the inner corner of  my eye and the beautiful shimmery gold Half Baked for the middle section of my water line.
  2.    Shady Lady from The Balm Eyeshadow. Super love the leopard packaging!! This eyeshadow comes with very lovely shimmery dark brown color, so pigmented you only need a little amount  of it. I put this on the outer section of my waterline. I know by now you must have understood  how crappy I am, such a pretty color yet I only use it for one third of my waterline.
  3.    Lavie Lash in Amaryllis Faux Lashes. Oh this faux lashes is so pretty and I’m a sucker for fancy packaging. It is lightweight and is made from real human hair so it looks really natural.
  4.    Anna Sui Eyelash Curler. Super love this eyelash curler, at first I bought it just because it’s black and fancy but now it has become my soul mate.
  5.    Urban Decay Eyeprimer. If you have an oily eyelid and you want your eyeshadow stays put or you just love to put more products onto your face like me, you better invest on this magic purple bottle.
  6.   Maybelline Black Liquid Eyeliner. I recently found this eyeliner when I was wondering around a drugstore, turns out it is quite good. It comes with thin pointy brush, suitable for people  with small eyelids like me to create a sharp cat eye. Oh and it’s very durable as well, I wear this  eyeliner to RPM class or yoga class and it stay still perfectly.
  7.   Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara, I swear to God finding the perfect mascara is even harder than finding a boyfriend! For me it has to be elongate, thicken,  dramatic, intense black, waterproof, smudgeproof, stands the test of RPM and yoga class. This  mascara does a good job to answer all of those.
  8.    Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara. Ok, another great mascara that answer all of those tests above.
  9.    Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara. Yep, another great mascara to compete with the  previous two.

*

If you notice I spread out three different mascara is because I really put on three different  mascara and it has to be in an exact order, purple (Maybelline The Falsies Volum’), orange  (Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume) and pink (Maybelline Great Lash). The purple one does amazing  job in lifting and elongating, it gives the sweet, pretty and natural effect, while the orange one  gives the more dramatic thick and black effect and last the pink one adds on the final lengthening  job at the tip of your lashes.

If you have small eyes, small eyelids, a small space between your eyes and your eyebrow and a  your eyes are hooded like mine, I found it no use spending time and effort to do complicated  eyeshadow job (unless you are really good at it), because by the time I open my eyes or smile  nobody can even see my eyelids and all the hard working I put on. People can only see my  eyelash. That explain a lot on why I love anything about eyelashes. Therefore my SIMPLE eye  makeup troops would consist of eyelash curler and mascaras, well.. sometimes eyeliner if I feel  like I want to.

You've see that Nomi use 3 mascara's for her look, then I'm no different when it comes to my EYEBROWS!   My Eye Make Up Essentials includes my usual routine in doing my eyes up to the brows, because I believe you'll be okay without your eyeliners or eyeshadows but you can't go anywhere without having your eyebrows fixed !

This is my day to day products but I tend to play around with several different items on the list for a more instant-glam look during night time, so here are Odri's Eye Make Up Essentials.

  1. Made in China Eyelash Curler. No kidding, this is just a regular eyelash curler I bought on a hurry since I lost my heated eyelash curler. In exchange to that, I usually heat this mascara with a hair dryer on for 2 minutes before applying them to my eyes. In most days, I skipped this step due to laziness :)
  2. Not only I apply this to my entire face before make up, I also use it for my eyelids as this Etude House Goodbye Pore-Ever Primer Essence are very smooth and turns out to be pretty long lasting to hold my make up.
  3. Lavie Lash in Hepburn Faux Lashes. Since it was named after my favorite icon Audrrey Hepburn, this could be my favorite pair of human-hair faux lashes. Being light and thick at the same time is the best option I could get for an instant wow factor for my eyes!
  4. H&M 6 Pack Eyeshadow Pallette . Although I find this palette are more subtle and not too pigmented, I love to wear them daily, especially the gold color for my entire eyelid and also under the eye for a sparkle effects.
  5. Etude Lash Perm All Shockara Mascara. They don't call it Shockara for nothing, because I really find it shocking for my eyelash to popped right away after I apply this mascara 2 times for my upper and lower lash! This is my perfect mascara for volumizing, curling, lengthening and waterproof all in one.
  6. Maybelline Black Liquid Eyeliner for a simple line and suits for my day look.
  7. NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder. Not only this has a perfect mix to fill my natural looking eyebrow, a little taupe color & highlight them with ash color-, the wax and both of its teeny tiny brush & angled brush really comes in handy. *STEP 2*
  8. Etude House Color My Brows Brow Mascara in No 4 Natural Brown. This is how I set my brows, I apply them after I finish all my brows step for a finer finished look. *STEP 4*
  9. Viva Eyebrow Pencil in Brown. This so-called dupes for Annastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn has been around for more than 20 years in Indonesia!  A local must haves for all Indonesian ladies out there. With a great lasting quality ( Made In Japan) this is my ultimate items to outline my brows before the filling process. *STEP 1*
  10. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel in Blackest Black. A gel liner to instantly dramatize my look for an evening event that I usually adds up on last minute.
  11. Inez Color Contour Plus Eyeliner in Floral White. Another Indonesian local brand (yet this pencil is Made in Czech) and I use this mostly to highlight space under my brows and on my waterline.
  12. Soap & Glory Arch De Triumph Two Step Shaping & Highlighting Crayon. Been using this before I know how to properly fill my eyebrows (you can see from the pic it no longer in its usual size) and usually use this to outline and highlight my brows. Loving the Buff swatch (highlighter) for its creamy texture, I practically apply them anywhere I need to highlight, in exchange to a creamy/ liquid highlighter. *STEP 3*
So there you have it, you can follow the *STEP* written if you want to follow how I did my eyebrows (sorry for not putting everything in order, somehow I lost track of my OCD).

You've already saw Nomi's fave too and now it's time for you to choose which one to follow, better Lash (Nomi) or better Brows (Odri) ? Or BOTH!

Buhbye for now,

Nomi & Odri Outdoor Essentials !

Hi there,

Last week, we both went to try a new outdoorsy activity (outbound & rafting, to be precise) , and we decide to share our Outdoor Essentials to you all , just for fun ! We hope this could be your ultimate references, as when you need to pack for a wild adventure out there!

Since we both have our own preferences when it comes to specific items, therefore this references are genuinely comes from our personal experience and we are not writing on behalf of any specific brand whatsoever (although it could be fun to be sponsored by one of these brands one day , haha we hope so ). So, here you go !

1) Water . Stay hydrated never get catchier in this pink Brita bottle.
2) Coppertone Sport SPF 30 Sunblock . Protect the skin you live in with this water resistant and sweat resistant sunblock.
3) Hat . With the right hat, nothing else really matters.
4) Golden Bow Hair Tie. It's black and gold. It comes with bow. And it keeps your hair in place. What more can I say?
5) Perfume, DKNY Be Delicious Art Limited Edition featuring Keith Haring.
A woman who doesn't wear perfume, has no future.
 6) Cheap Monday Sunglasses. I can't live without sunglasses, everybody should own at least a pair. Sunglasses is perfect, it protects your eyes, it adorns your face, it shields your swollen eyes after a night of sleep deprived night, it makes you look and feel like you can conquer the world.
7) Lucas Papaw Ointment. Ooh.. I can talk for days about this magic red tube (*brace yourself!). I first discover this when my sister sent me one from Melbourne and I fell in love instantly. I wear this as lipbalm every single day and every single time, I wear it before makeup, before driving, before working out, in the middle of working, I slap a good amount of it onto my face on those days that I forget to bring my skincare to gym or when i feel like I need to get extra hydration before bed time. Once I had a scratch wound on the inside corner of my left eyes due to my habit of scratching my eyes before sleeping, so I put a Lucas Papaw on it and the next morning the marks became less visible and gone by the next day of using. This natural ointment also works wonder on insect bites, rashes and cuts. I slather it onto my knee and elbow whenever I need it. My friend even swear by that this product will reduce stretch mark. I become so obsessed with this thing, I even tried to taste it. Turns out it taste like a tasteless greasy unhardened jelly. HAHA!!

Lucas Papaw is the evidence that GOD exists and the one who created it, is a SAINT!!!

1) Hat . Who doesn't need em?
2) H&M Cat Eye Sunglasses . Like duh?
3) Fujifilm Finepix JV Pocket Camera . Need I say more? Selfie is essential!
4) Nature’s Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel . This is highly important for me, because I can easily get burned!
5) Sariayu Feminine Wipes . Since we're going outdoor , we don’t know the condition of the restroom so it’s better to have something like this on your pocket
 6) Biore Cleansing Sheets. Need this to clean up yourself after playing around on unsterilized waters.
7) Konichiwa flip flops. You will always need one!
8)  Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (in Honey Douce) . Just my favorite lip stain since it has good moisture and keep my lips fine when I visit more humid / dry location.
9) Etude House Silky CC cream. I don't usually wear sunscreen on my face when I go out, but this CC cream has a UV Protection feature so I feel its ok to just use this on my face before going out.
10)Baby Veil Hair Fragrance in Floral Swoon. This is an easy breezy refreshment to combat bad hair day after a long day in the outdoors!
11) Banana Boat  SPF 80 Ultra Protect Sunblock . You always need this, trust me !
12) Crème 21 Moisturizing Crème with Vit E. For me, this is my all purpose cream and wears them anywhere (even for my face).
13) Banila it Radiant CC Cushion SPF 30 PA++. I nearly never wear any heavy face powder ever since I found this. I love this one to death!
14) toilet seat spray. Nuff said.
15) Dettol Instant Hand Sanitizer. What you need to prepare before you eat with your hands (and when you're just too lazy to wash your hands)!

So, can you tell our differences by looking at our stuff ? haha !

Why don't you share your outdoor essentials too and let's see how you're doing with that!

One Day with Ford & Good Housekeeping

Hi there,

Today we'd like to share about our experienced on "One Day with Ford & Good Housekeeping" that we joined last month . This event is part of Good Housekeeping regular event , that usually invites all its readers. friends, and partners.

The starting point for this one day trip is located in Pipiltin Cocoa, one of a cute little cafe located in near Barito - Panglima Polim , South Jakarta.

We're all invited to create our own chocolate praline in the kitchen and the owner also explain the process of chocolate making ( from cacao seed into a chocolate bar that we can consume).

We also listen about some information regarding Ford and their new car, Ford Fiesta with EcoBoost and we had a chance to try out the car ( yeay!) driving to our next destination, Zen Spa

 zen spa

Since, we went for a total relaxation, therefore we don't take any picture there, unfortunately! But we're planning to visit that place again very soon ( because we received so many discount vouchers! * happy ). After we finished out our back massage , we continue to our final destination, Kempinski Hotel Central Jakarta to attend a talk show about Women Empowerment, while enjoying a late group lunch.

Then finally, we went home with yummy goodies to enjoy !

Afternoon tea with Twinings White Tea & Good Housekeeping

Hi ,

this might be our first post but since we want to keep things interesting, we have an idea to post some of our late activity together. Last month, we were invited to attend an afternoon tea session with one of Indonesia's leading women magazine, Good Housekeeping.

The event was very insightful and we had very nice time ( trying out cups of white tea, some macaroons and also some cakes) . Making tea in proper way turns out to be very easy but usually ignored by most of us. According to Ratna Soemantri, Indonesia well known tea expert from the event, it only takes 2 minutes to brew a cup of tea without losing its benefit. Tea are better served while its hot, and if you want to keep your tea cold its better to store them in a closed container. Because the antioxidant on the tea, will decrease once you expose it for too long on the open air .

We're so happy to received many goodies from the event and looking forward for more activities like this :)

Buhbye for now,
